Caribbean
The exotic world of the Caribbean with its endless stretches of white-sand beaches, turquoise colored sea, colorful coral formations, unremitting sunshine and most of all its welcoming and hospitable people. The Caribbean population is a rich mixture of peoples of all nationalities. The culture of Africa is more noticeable in the music of the Caribbean. Calypso was born in Trinidad, Jamaica is the home of reggae and Puerto Rico sways to salsa. The music that makes Barbados swing ranges from soca (a mix of soul and calypso) and calypso to the hottest jazz. St. Lucia is also proud of its annual Jazz Festival held in May.
A trip to the wonderful world of the Caribbean would be incomplete without a mouth-watering culinary experience. The ethnic diversity of this region provides the foundation for an array of unique and tasty foods ranging from Jamaican jerk to Bahamian boil fish and Johnny cake, Barbados flying fish, Trinidad's "oil-down", Guyana's "metem", and the menu goes on.
Aruba - Aruba is located in the heart of the southern Caribbean, 15 miles from Venezuela. The islands are actually the birthplace of the Gulf Stream, a phenomenon that also accounts for their astonishing variety and abundance of marine life. Legendary gamefish draw sport fisherman in search of the "big one". The Bahamas offer inexhaustible pleasures and challenges to snorkelers and divers. The natural beauty of the water extends to the thousands of miles of shoreline, which has some of the world's most stunningly beautiful beaches.
Jamaica - Jamaica's scenic vistas are simply breath taking and there are numerous sights and places of interest to be visited. Each parish is resplendent in its own beauty with scenes common to no other. Montego Bay, the second largest city of Jamaica, offers opportunities for water skiing, sailing and deep sea fishing among other things. In Ocho Rios can be found the intriguing limestone Green Grotto caves which lead to an underground lake. There is also Dunn's River Falls, Fern Gully, Columbus Park and Negril with its seven miles of white sand beach, the longest in Jamaica. Kingston, a cultural kaleidoscope, is Jamaica's capital city. It is full of scintillating sights, sounds and smells.
